Our Alpine Countries Adventure
Welcome to our travel journal — a heartfelt documentation of an unforgettable 14-day journey through the heart of the Alpine region in the three German-speaking countries: Germany (Day 1-4, 7-9), Switzerland (Day 5, 6) and Austria (Day 10-14).

Day 1 : Meeting our tourmates in Koblenz
The adventure begins! After a long-haul flight from the bustling streets of Hong Kong to Frankfurt's gleaming airport, we boarded a swift train that whisked us through rolling German countryside straight to the enchanting riverside city of Koblenz—the perfect launchpad for a thrilling 2-week journey.
Waking up to crisp morning air, the day kicked off with an exhilarating ride on the iconic Koblenz cable car, soaring high above the mighty Rhine. Gliding in the gondola offered breathtaking bird's-eye views of the two rivers merging, the historic old town below, and the massive Ehrenbreitstein Fortress perched dramatically on the hillside—Europe's second-largest fortress, guarding the confluence like a silent sentinel.
Exploring the fortress grounds felt like stepping into a living history book—ramparts, cannons, secret passages, and panoramic vistas that stretch forever along the UNESCO-listed Rhine Valley. The morning's excitement only built from there.

When we visited the Deutsches Eck in the morning, we were also fortunate to be entertained by a marching band performance.

Then came the highlight: meeting the lively group of 25 tourmates for the first time! Laughter and introductions flowed easily as everyone gathered, instantly clicking into that special travel-family vibe. The orientation walk wound through Koblenz's charming Altstadt—narrow cobblestone lanes, colorful half-timbered houses, lively squares buzzing with café life, and the riverside promenade leading to the famous Deutsches Eck (German Corner). There, at the dramatic point where the Rhine and Moselle rivers dramatically collide, stands the towering equestrian monument to Kaiser Wilhelm I, flags fluttering in the breeze, with boats gliding past and the city skyline as backdrop.
The evening capped it all off perfectly: a joyful welcome dinner at a delightful restaurant with a prime outdoor seating area. Good food, flowing drinks, and shared stories from near and far.
What an electric start to the trip! The group energy is already electric, the scenery is straight out of a postcard, and the best is yet to come. Cheers to epic days ahead along the Rhine, Moselle, and beyond
